Filer Consolidation

Filer or data server consolidation, virtual or physical

Fast Cut-over is the key

File Consolidation is a challenge. First, is the consolidation from physical servers to virtual? Is it from an older version OS to a newer OS on the same technology? Or is it to a new vendor technology? Each of these factors influence how the consolidation can be done.

How can FilePilot Copy help you?

The UI provides a graphical tree view of a before-and-after target folder tree. This aids in avoiding conflicts as each servers contents are integrated during the consolidation.
The files can be migrated from physical to virtual servers using FilePilot Copy. This model enable one to quickly move valuable data from old OS based servers to new OS versions on VMs.
FilePilot Copy runs on Windows but can access servers and Filers that support CIFS protocol. The fast file copy is able to copy files, folders and shares from one brand filer to another.

Consolidating legacy storage:  FilePilot Copy™ enables copying data files even while the production systems are in use. Consolidate the legacy shares onto the new storage system and then distribute the desktop shortcuts and you are cutover.
